Riverside Campground Mural (Smithers, BC)
In 2025 I designed and painted a 4-sided outdoor mural for the pump house at Riverside Municipal Campground in Smithers, BC. The colourful design combines my love of folk art with the natural abundance and beauty of the Bulkley Valley—from wildflowers in the high alpine, to steelhead and sockeye salmon in the river bottom.
This project was supported by Smithers Art Gallery in conjunction with the Town of Smithers and Wetzin’kwa Community Forest Corporation.
Working with Emily was a great experience. She was always quick to respond, flexible throughout the project, and respectful of our operating environment. She worked well with our team and was accommodating when requests or adjustments came up.
Emily's vision for the mural was unique and really captured the natural beauty of our community. The bright, vibrant colours make it stand out and create a welcoming focal point at Riverside Campground. Her artwork reflects the landscape and outdoor lifestyle that make our area special.
The mural has been a wonderful addition to the campground and to the Town's public art collection. We regularly receive positive comments from campers, visitors, and local residents, and it has helped add to the welcoming and creative atmosphere of the community.
